Chester & District Housing Trust Cycle Coast to Coast

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

A team of 13 cyclists have helped Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) raised over £3,200 for charity by cycling coast to coast from Workington on the West to Tynemouth on the East, totaling a hefty 147 miles.

The challenge was split over three days consisting of one day of 47 miles, another of 56 miles and then the final day of 44 miles. The route also involved passing through the Lake District and the Pennines. Participates have already paid a visit to the Claire House Children’s Hospice, the charity which will benefit from the funds raised from this expedition. During their visit they were given a tour around the hospice, as well as shown how their funding raising will benefit its residents.

CDHT are also organising a charity quiz at Chester Football Club in the next coming weeks, where the Claire House Children’s Hospice will be presented with a cheque from the fundraising.

CDHT CANAL SIDE DEVELOPMENT LAUNCHED IN CHESTER

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

The first residents have moved into Chester and District Housing Trust (CDHT) new development, Suffolk House, this week at the new canal side development in Chester.

The development has cost CDHT over £3.2 million to complete and has provided the city with thirty-two new two bedroom apartments for the over 55’s.

A lead developer for the Homes and Communities Agency and for the region of Cheshire, CDHT commits to providing Cheshire with quality and sustainable housing that is of a level three eco-code standard. The project was completed with the help of contractor Seddon, who often work in partnership with CDHT on other Cheshire developments.

There is still a high demand for new homes in Chester, which is one of the main reasons why more homes are being developed in nearby Broughton, Rakeway and Saughall areas of Chester. These apartments are expected to be completed in Spring 2011.
