A little more about Cwrt Hywel...
New retirement apartments for sale in Gorseinon, Swansea
McCarthy & Stone pioneered the concept of private retirement housing in the UK and have retirement developments nationwide.
Retirement living from McCarthy & Stone however is so much more than just a retirement flat. It s designed to enable older retired home owners to lead an active, independent lifestyle, without many of the maintenance worries often associated with home ownership; all in a safe and secure environment.
Cwrt Hywel consists of 53 one and two bedroom retirement homes situated in Gorseinon, Swansea, South Wales. The retirement apartments are ideally located on Alexandra Road in the heart of Gorseinon with easy access to shops and amenities. Sainsbury's supermarket is next door and there are numerous shops including a butcher, greengrocer, post office and newsagent. There is also a new Asda close by.
Gorseinon is an established town approximately 6 miles north west of Swansea city centre. It has excellent transport links with the A420 running through the town connecting Gorseinon to Llanelli in the west, and to Penllergaer and the M4 motorway in the east. The town centre bus station offers regular services to Swansea as well as local towns and villages such as Pontarddulais, Gowerton, Port Talbot and Loughor. From Swansea city centre there are regular bus and rail links further afield to Cardiff, South Wales and beyond.
For more than 50 years Gorseinon boasted the smallest cinema in the UK, La Charrette (French for carriage), which was built in a disused railway carriage. It had just 23 seats and was opened in 1953 by Gwynn Phillips, a projectionist. Sadly it was closed in 2008 with many cinema stars including Kenneth Branagh making a pilgrimage to Gorseinon for the occasion. La Charrette was dismantled, restored and now sits in Gower Heritage Park.
Gorseinon is home to several lovely parks, one with relics of the town's industrial past and the other, a ring of ancient standing stones. South west of Gorseinon is the Gower Peninsula, which was one of the first areas in Britain to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers visitors breathtaking views and scenery to enjoy.
Cwrt Hywel retirement development has been designed to suit an independent retirement lifestyle. Residents can enjoy the usual high quality features of a McCarthy & Stone retirement home including sheltered landscaped grounds, a communal lounge, hotel style guest suite and 24 hour security system. Each of the 53 retirement apartments has a number of thoughtful touches including illuminated light switches, easy grip lever taps and electrical sockets set at a convenient height. The day to day running of this retirement property is overseen by a resident house manager.
There are now only 6 one bedroom retirement apartments remaining at Cwrt Hywel.
