There really is something for everyone close by, from great golf courses to the chance to shop till you drop, from Bristol’s historic harbourside, bustling with life, to Bristol Zoo with wildlife from around the globe.

Whether you are dining out with the family, or enjoying an intimate meal for two, there are plenty of fine and friendly restaurants available that won’t set you back too much in taxi fares. Take the kids to Nandos or Frankie and Benny’s at Abbey Wood Retail Park or TGI Fridays, Bella Italia and KFC at Cribbs Causeway.

The Fox Den, the Inn on the Green or the Wellington all offer home cooked pub grub, or there are more exotic options available at the Beijing, the Golden Oriental or the Bayleaf.

Naturally, a cosmopolitan city like Bristol has much more to offer for every taste and budget, from top quality, top price dining to great value hidden gems.

Education

Education is always a priority for Redrow Homes, so much so that Cheswick Urban Village has its own brand new primary school – Wallscourt Farm Academy – to serve our homebuyers in style. Packed with new equipment, the purpose built school is already achieving amazing things with the local children. If you prefer, Stoke Park or Shield Road Road primary schools offer a nearby alternative.

Older children can choose between a number of good quality local schools, including Fairfield High School, Abbeywood Community School and Upper Horfield Community School, all within easy reach of the development.

Leisure

Bristol’s Cribbs Causeway is a hub of family leisure activity, with a 12 screen Vue cinema a selection of famous name family restaurants and even a ten pin bowling alley. Head into the heart of the city and you’ll find many more cinemas and theatres, with a range of popular shows at Bristol Hippodrome and classical concerts at Colston Hall.

Bristol Rovers and Bristol City provide the local football entertainment, with and Premiership rugby available at both Gloucester and Bath. Golfers can take on a choice of challenging rounds at Filton Golf Club, Woodlands Golf and Country Club and Bristol Golf Club, while both racing and fashion fans will not want to miss the classic meetings at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood.

The nearby Mendip Hills and the Avon Gorge Park, home of the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge are both well worth a visit for a day out in the countryside

Shopping

Bristol is known across the South West as the place for shopaholics, with its huge selection of modern shopping malls and out of town retail parks, while the historic harbour adds an extra element of interest with a selection of quirky independent stores.

Cribbs Causeway has over 130 shops to choose from and two retail parks, while the city centre Cabot Circus gives you the choice of 120 more. Abbey Wood Retail Park, within easy reach of the development, offers some big name bargains, including Next and Pets at Home.

Cheswick Urban Village also boasts its own selection of local shops as part of our custom built community, taking care of those everyday essentials.
