Soham has many historic buildings - some are now pubs and restaurants - including two windmills and the medieval St Andrew's Parish Church. This vibrant community has leisure and interest groups for all ages and an annual Pumpkin Fair. The Ross Peers Sports Centre offers a great range of sports and fitness and Soham Town Rangers has senior and youth teams. For walkers there are 50 miles of local footpaths. Race-goers will enjoy the National Horseracing Museum at nearby Newmarket, or visit the magnificent Cathedral with its famous Stained Glass Museum in the historic city of Ely and take a trip along the River Great Ouse. The county city of Cambridge with its beautiful architecture, majestic college buildings and museums is also within easy reach.

Soham is just off the A142 that runs from Ely, 9 miles in the north, to Newmarket, 7 miles, to the south. From Newmarket take the A14 east for Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, or south west for Cambridge. There you can join the M11 at junctions 12, 13 and 14 for London and the M25. Bus services run regularly from Soham to Cambridge and Newmarket and trains run from Ely to Cambridge and King's Cross, London, taking just over an hour. Services also run to Norwich, Ipswich, King's Lynn, Birmingham and Stansted Airport. For air travel, Stansted is just 40 miles.
