Sandbach has a good selection of shops and services with some specialist outlets and popular High Street names. There are a number of supermarkets including Waitrose, some large DIY stores and thanks to the town's Royal Charter, granted in 1579, there are regular markets held three days a week in the town centre and at Market Hall, offering everything from local produce, meat, fish, household goods, books and gifts. A monthly Farmers' Market and Crosses Market is also held on The Cobbles. For city shopping Manchester's Arndale Centre is just over 40 miles and the ancient walled-city of Chester is less than 30 miles.

With its origins in Saxon times Sandbach is a town steeped in history. The Crosses on The Cobbles - the traditional cobbled market square - is said to date back to the 7th Century, and the town's many listed buildings include The Old Hall Hotel, St Mary's Church and Sandbach School. Today there are thriving golf, rugby, football, cricket and bowling clubs, a community cinema and a leisure centre. The town also boasts the award-winning Foden Brass Band and the annual Transport Festival that attracts more than 15,000 visitors. Sandbach Park is ideal for relaxing, a site of special Scientific Interest with its wetland areas supporting hundreds of unusual species of birds, flora and fauna.

Sandbach has great transport links with Junction 17 of the M6 less than four miles away. The A534 gives direct access to the motorway with Manchester less than 35 miles to the north and the West Midlands just over 50 miles to the south. Sandbach Railway Station near Elworth Park is just an easy mile-and-a-half drive down the B4079 and bus services run from the town between Crewe, Winsford, Middlewich and Northwich. For air travel, Manchester Airport is approximately 27 miles.
