Trelowen is just off the A390 that leads south to Truro and the major A30 trunk road to the north. The A30 is one of Cornwall's major routes, linking the county to the M5 at Exeter in the north-east and to Penzance and St Ives in the south. From Truro, the A390 leads north to St Austell and connects at Truro with the A39 for Helston and the Lizard peninsular. From Truro railway station, approximately two miles from Trelowen, trains run directly to Plymouth, the Midlands and London's Paddington. Newquay Airport, situated 21 miles to the north, offers year round flights to Gatwick and Manchester airports and to other UK and European cities in the summer.
