More information about The Links...

You'll never be far away from the seaside at The Links

The Links in Seascale is a delightful new range of two, three and four bedroom homes. Ideally located, the development is situated on the west coast of Cumbria, with views of the Lake District mountains to the east and the Isle of Man and Scotland to the west.

Set on the west coast of the delightful Solway Firth coastline, the village of Seascale has glorious seaside views and a beach providing fun for all the family. A popular holiday resort in the Victorian era, the village is well-known for its long sandy clean beaches and safe bathing. Much of the village retains its Victorian charm and the former wooden jetty was re-established at the turn of the millennium. The village has a rich history, tracing back to an early Norse settlement and to Roman Britain.

The village is close to the A595 and is well-served by Seascale Railway Station (just a few minutes walk away from the development), now known as the Cumbria Coast Line. The old goods shed was turned into a sports hall, which now boasts a refurbished fitness centre with the latest advanced fitness technology. Nearby, there is a children’s play area that overlooks the seafront and an impressive 18-hole golf course.

The Links development is in an enviable location. Not only will house buyers enjoy seaside living and all that Seascale has to offer, but the spectacular Lake District is just a 10-minute drive away. The Lake District is England's largest National Park and has more than 16 breathtaking lakes. All its land is over 300ft above sea level and it’s here that you can find the highest mountain in England, Scafel Pike.

With its close proximity to the Lake District and local towns including Whitehaven, Workington and Cockermouth, the location is second-to-none. Boasting a range of house designs to choose from, The Links will appeal to many buyers and could be just what you’ve been searching for.

Right on your doorstep you can enjoy a wide array of watersports and outdoor pursuits. The Lake District offers rowing, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and fishing. Alternatively, a more leisurely way of sightseeing on the water is by steamer or river cruise. Many of these activities are hosted at the stunning Ullswater Lake (England's second largest lake). At Ullswater’s activity centre you can also enjoy horse riding and use the rock climbing facilities.Where the West Lake District rivers meet the sea, dunes and estuaries form. These are teeming with sea life and birds.

The Lake District area provides great family days out at the Coast Aquarium in Maryport, the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre, and Lakeland Wildlife Oasis near Milnthorpe.

Other attractions nearby include Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, and Treetop Trek Aerial Adventure near Windermere, with it's rope bridges and zip wires.

Cycling enthusiasts, whether road cyclists or mountain bikers, can benefit from bike hire; a host of free cycling events, including Skyrides during the summer; and country lanes, permitted cycleways and bridleways.

Hundreds of walking books and guides can be found at the Information Centre. The Lake District area is a walker's paradise with guided walks, navigation courses, and the more relaxed 'miles without stiles' walks suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. If walking isn't your thing, then there are also minibus tours available.
