About the Development

Dawlish is such a beautiful place to be that it attracts tens of thousands of holidaymakers every year to its Blue Flag beaches and stunning coastal scenery. And with Redrow Homes at Warren Grove, you could enjoy this laid back, leisurely lifestyle all year round.

Just twelve miles from Exeter, with direct mainline rail connections, Dawlish is a stunning place to live, and a breathtaking location for the Redrow’s award winning Heritage Collection of two, three and four bedroom homes.

Amenities

There is a Sainsbury’s supermarket just opposite Warren Grove. For doctors, register with The Warren Surgery on Warren Road (Sat Nav EX7 0PQ, call 0845 467 0879), or for dentists, try Terrace Dental care in nearby Dawlish (Sat Nav EX7 9HX, call 0845 467 0879).

Dining

As you would expect from a popular tourist resort, there are countless great places to eat both in Dawlish and along the coast. Look out for seafront restaurants with terraces where you can watch the sunset over the sea as you tuck in to freshly caught fish. For something different, try Gurkha for Nepalese and Indian food, Jack Sprats for fresh seafood, or the shabby chic of Ten Green Bottles. There are also countless delightful Devon pubs to be discovered, offering delicious home cooked food, such as the Anchor Inn at Cockwood or The Smugglers Inn in Dawlish Warren.

Education

The coastal setting of Dawlish is well served by local primary schools, with Gatehouse Primary, Westcliff Primary and Cockwood Primary all within easy reach. For older pupils Dawlish Community College was rated outstanding by OFSTED for leadership. Nearby Exeter also has a good selection of high schools, providing a range of state and independent education.

Leisure

Leisure is a way of life in Dawlish, with miles of unspoilt, supervised beaches and a whole host of things to do, especially during the summer season, from carting to crazy golf. If you prefer your leisure time a little quieter, you can explore the 500 acres of Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve, take a walk in Haldon Forest Park, or head for the wide open spaces of Dartmoor National Park. The more sporty can test their skills on the links of Warren Golf Course, or try a range of sports at the nearby Dawlish Leisure Centre. Fans of the arts will enjoy the varied programme at the Shaftesbury Theatre in Dawlish, or the choice of cinemas in Newton Abbot or Exeter.

Shopping

Dawlish has a small selection of independent shops, many of which also cater for tourists. For more extensive shopping, hop on a train to Exeter where you’ll find the pedestrianised Princesshay Shopping Centre, home to many leading international brands, from Apple to House of Fraser.

Transport

Warren Grove lies just off the main A379 Exeter to Newton Abbot road, with Exeter just 12 miles to the north and Newton Abbot 11 miles west. The centre of Dawlish is just 2 miles away, with Torquay 12 miles and Plymouth 44 miles. Alternatively trains from Dawlish Station run direct to Exeter in approximately 20 minutes, and to Plymouth, via Newton Abbot, in around an hour, along one of Britain’s most scenic rail routes. Ferries from Plymouth connect to a range of continental destinations in Spain and France, while Exeter Airport offers a choice of European flights just 14 miles from the development.
