Water's Edge offers easy access to the A377 to Exeter and the A361 to Taunton which both connect with the M5. Following the A39 south takes you along the coastal roads towards Bideford and Bude (approximately 6 miles and 30 miles away). There is a local bus service from the village and the train station at Barnstaple is on The Tarka Line that provides a rail link with Exeter and the mainline which is also accessible at Tiverton Parkway station.
