About the Development

Transport

Located in the Stamford Brook area of Altrincham, our development at The Acorns offers excellent accommodation in a prime location. Altrincham is easily accessed via the M60, M56 and A56, making it the perfect choice for commuters and families. Excellent public transport links are one of the big attractions for this town. Altrincham has regular buses to Trafford, Stockport and Manchester. The Metrolink system provides a tram service every six minutes all the way into Manchester, making it an easy commute for business or leisure. Manchester Airport offers a busy schedule of domestic and international flights and is just a ten-minute drive up the motorway.

Leisure

Our development at The Acorns is situated near a huge choice of leisure facilities so there is plenty to do in your time off. The town has its own award-winning cinema located on Denmark Street as well as two theatres. The local ice-rink is home to the Manchester Phoenix ice-hockey team and is open to the public outside training times. Heyes Grove Tennis Club can be found on Park Road while the local leisure centre has an excellent pool and state-of-the-art fitness suite. There are two magnificent golf courses, with Dunham Forest Golf and Country Club and Altrincham Golf Course both providing players with an 18-hole challenge through stunning parkland. Altrincham’s excellent transport links also make it a great base for exploring a little further afield, with the Lake District and Peak District Park within easy reach.

Altrincham has a huge assortment of excellent places to eat and drink. Pubs such as the Pelican Inn and the Old Packet House have a good selection of beers. Alternatively soak up the atmosphere at one of the town’s bars, such as the Slug and Lettuce or Riley’s Sports Bar. The Goose Green area of Altrincham has a fabulous village square atmosphere with restaurants such as Francs, La Piazza and The House catering for residents and tourists alike. A variety of international cuisines are on offer, from Italian, Indian and Chinese to Lebanese and Brazilian.

Amenities

Our Redrow development is conveniently located near to a wide selection of location amenities. In addition to two supermarkets, Altrincham has its own shopping centre, Stamford Quarter. Altrincham is also well equipped with healthcare amenities. West Timperley Medical Centre is located on Dawson Road and there are two dental practices - Altrincham Dental Practice on Manchester Road and KS Dental in nearby Sale. The town also has two hospitals, one general and one private. This pretty town has plenty of green space where residents can enjoy some peace and quiet, including Stamford and Grove parks, as well as many stunning Grade II listed churches.

Shopping

Shoppers are spoiled for choice thanks to Altrincham’s convenient location near some of the country’s leading retail outlets. The town has been a centre for commerce for hundreds of years, with a market dating all the way back to 1290. This market offers quality local and speciality produce in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Shoppers will find a good mix of shops and food retailers at the newly completed Stamford Quarter shopping centre. The Trafford Centre in nearby Manchester offers unrivalled shopping opportunities with a vast array of designer, boutique and high street names all under one roof. Just a short drive up the M60, Manchester also has an excellent array of restaurants, clubs and leisure faculties.
