About the Development

The second phase at Redrow’s sought after Woodford Garden Village, Lancaster Green is an exclusive enclave featuring just a few of our finest three and four bedroom family homes. Just like the award winning Heritage Collection, Lancaster Green at Woodford Garden Village gives you the best of both worlds, enjoying life on a delightful small development, while having access to all the amenities of the garden village, including dedicated schools and shops, health centre and sports facilities.

Remember, you need just 5% deposit with Help to Buy; and Redrow could get you moving by helping sell your old home too with the Help to Sell scheme.

Amenities

The plans for the development include a range of local shops for your day to day needs and there is a local convenience store within walking distance. Major supermarkets can be found in nearby Poynton & Wilmslow including Waitrose.

GPs can be found locally at Bramhall Village Surgery (Sat Nav SK7 2DN, call 0845 463 8417) and dentists can be found at Whitehouse Dental Practice, Bramhall (Sat Nav SK7 2BE, call 0845 463 8417)

Dining

There is fine dining aplenty in the local towns, with something for every taste and budget. Try Tom Yam (Thai), the Purple Pakorah (Indian) or Tarantella Trattoria (Italian) in Poynton; Phanthong (Thai), Hella Taverna (Greek) or Heddy’s (Mediterranean) in Wilmslow; or Dilshad (Indian) and Giulianos (Italian) in Handforth. Olivers and The Davenport Arms are also great places to eat nearby.

As you would expect, the local countryside has endless excellent gastro pubs, with the Farmer’s Arms and Vernon Arms in Poynton, The Bulls Head and Ship Inn in Wilmslow and the Cheshire smokehouse produces a Bakery, Butchers and Wine shop with a specialist deli and stylish on site café.

Education

We’re delighted to be able to construct a dedicated primary school to serve the development, making early years education easily accessible for all our residents within walking distance. Until this brand new school is completed, younger pupils can attend Queensgate Primary School just a short drive away. Older pupils can choose between excellent schools including Bramhall High, Wilmslow High, Poynton High School and the highly regarded independent Cheadle Hulme School.

Leisure

The superb Cheshire countryside offers a wealth of leisure opportunities, including the exquisite country houses of Dunham Massey and Tatton Park. The nearby Peak District adds even more to the mix, with hiking, climbing and many more outdoor sports.

Cheshire is famous for its fabulous choice of golf courses, and you can enjoy a challenging round at Adlington, Avro and Bramhall, as well as the Championship course at Mottram Hall.

There is evening entertainment on every scale in the local area, from the amateurs of Poynton Players and the traditional 280 seat cinema at Macclesfield, to the international arenas and concert halls of Manchester, including the MEN Arena, G-Mex and Bridgewater Hall, home of the Halle Orchestra.

Shopping

There is something for every shopping style within easy reach of Lancaster Green at Woodford Garden Village. Check out the designer boutiques and stylish shopping of towns like Wilmslow, Prestbury and Alderley Edge; or Manchester city centre which hosts department stores like Harvey Nichols, House of fraser & Selfridges; or head around the M60 and indulge your shopaholic tendencies to the full at the Trafford Centre, with hundreds of big name brands to choose from.

The malls and main streets of Manchester are easy to reach for a shopping trip, with the Arndale Centre a popular destination. Alternatively, you can head for Salford Quays for a designer bargain from the outlet village.

Transport

There may no longer be planes flying from Woodford, but you’ll find it is just as easy to get around. Trains from nearby Poynton Station will have you in Manchester in just 26 minutes, with regular rush hour services, and trains to Macclesfield are even quicker, taking just ten minutes. The station has generous park and ride facilities for your convenience.

For drivers, the A6, M60 and M56 are all within easy reach, giving you access across the region. Stockport, Wilmslow, Prestbuty and Macclesfield are all less than ten miles drive, as is Manchester International Airport, which will be accessible in just a few minutes via the new A555 link road, which will also provide rapid access to the M56 beyond. A brand new dedicated bus service will connect the development to Stockport and beyond.
