About the Development

It may have historic cobbled streets and the original wooden stocks in the Market Square, but don’t be fooled; Poulton le Fylde is no sleepy backwater. With excellent commuter connections by rail and road, superb shopping close by and a choice of OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ primary and senior schools within walking distance, you’ll find everything you and your family need for modern living within easy reach.

Oldfield Park offers 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in Poulton le Fylde, from our award winning Heritage Collection. These are some of our finest homes providing generous space and superb specification, yet you and your family could move in for just 5% deposit, with lower monthly mortgage repayments, thanks to the government backed Help to Buy scheme.

Dining

From friendly restaurants to family gastro pubs, there’s plenty on the menu when it comes to dining out in Poulton. Bistro Italia, Mews Thai, China Red and Ricos are all within easy reach of Oldfield Park, with Pulci Pizza, Boca Café bar, Cinco’s Mexican, Espanol and the amusingly titled Thai by Night all highly recommended.

Local family friendly gastro pubs include the Miller Arms, the Bourne Arms, the Black Bull and the Seven Stars, along with the highly rated Castle Gardens and Thatched House.

Education

Oldfield Park is privileged to have no less than three OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ primary schools not too far away, The Breck Primary, St John’s Catholic Primary and St Chad’s CofE Primary. Also the ‘Outstanding’ Hodgson Academy, a mixed comprehensive, with the ‘Good’ Baines School just a short bus ride away.

With such a fine selection of local state schools, you may not feel the need to invest in independent education, however, if you prefer the private sector, Kirkham Grammar and the Rossall School in Fleetwood both offer excellent alternatives, although all involve a significant journey.

Leisure

When it comes to leisure, Blackpool is truly unrivalled, with everything from the Winter Gardens and Grand Theatre to an Odeon Cinema, plus countless bars, restaurants and clubs. You’ll be spoiled for choice for a great family day out, with everything from the animals of Blackpool Zoo to the thrills of Blackpool Pleasure Beach; the stunning tower to the three traditional piers, all close at hand.

For a quieter day out, there are miles of glorious coastline to explore, with endless safe, family friendly beaches perfect for a fun summer afternoon.

The Fylde Coast is famous for its high class golf courses, including Royal Lytham St Annes and the DeVere Heron’s Reach Golf and Country Club, with Poulton le Fylde Golf Club right on your doorstep. Nearby Poulton YMCA offers a range of sports facilities.

Poulton has held a market in the town square since 1348, and still holds regular markets, including a farmers’ market every forth Saturday of the month. The town also has a fascinating array of quirky independent shops hidden away amongst its cobbled streets.

For a more extensive shopping trip, head for Blackpool, with the huge Houndshill Shopping Centre, or jump a train to Preston for the full city shopping experience. Freeport Fleetwood is home to endless designer bargains, or you can browse the exclusive boutiques of Lytham St Annes at the foot of the Fylde Coast.
