Healey Walk is set in the heart of the rural town of Whitworth in the borough of Rossendale. Nestled in the foothills of the Pennies, Whitworth is a beautiful former Lancashire cotton mill town and has a thriving local community. It spans the complete length of the Whitworth Valley (an area of 7 square miles) and consisting in this territory are the Healey, Broadley, Whitworth Facit and Shawforth communities.

Towards the south end of Whitworth you will find Healey Dell Nature Reserve. Described as Whitworth's jewel in the crown, Healey Dell has an abundance of flora and fauna and through which the River Spodden flows. The disused railway line and 100 feet high viaduct boasts fabulous views over the Dell. Rossendale Valley has more public footpaths than any other borough in England.

Whitworth is located amongst the foothills of the Pennines but is easily accessible from many major towns and cities including Leeds and Manchester.

Healey Walk offers a selection of restaurants and country pubs to relax in after a scenic country walk. Watersports are also a popular amenity, with The Whitworth Waterski Academy based at Cowm Reservoir. Watersports on offer here include water skiing and  banana boat rides. Whitworth Leisure Centre is great for swimming, while Brown Wardle Hill provides an ideal spot for hang gliding. Motor sports fans will also love Whitworth's quarry.
