Situated just over 4 miles east of the historic city of Durham, our new collection of homes at Moorlands Walk in Sherburn, is in a great location. Enjoying fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and with city amenities close at hand, you really do get the best of both worlds.

For a small city Durham has a lot going for it. As well as the famous landmarks of the cathedral and castle, high up above the River Wear, Durham has got great shopping, and plenty of cafés, restaurants and pubs to choose from. There's a thriving indoor and outdoor market, and with the university at its heart, there's a great atmosphere too. From Sherburn, the A690 links to the A1(M) to the north. This is a direct route connecting Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, and Sunderland, making Moorland Walks a convenient place for a new home if you need to commute.

All your daily essentials can be found within half a mile of Moorlands Walk, including a local Co-op store. For even more choice, Durham has a modern shopping centre, the atmospheric streets of the historic city centre and an indoor market, offering a great choice. Visit the Prince Bishop's Centre and the Riverside Centre for high street and designer brands or grab a bargain at the colourful Victorian Market and monthly Farmers' Market.

Being in a rural location, Moorlands Walk is conveniently close to scenic walking, cycling routes and lovely places for family picnics. For a bit more action, Durham offers many leisure activities and sports, including those at the Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre, where you can enjoy the gym, exercise classes, tennis courts, football pitches and two pools. If you fancy using less energy, the Gala Theatre offers a variety of comedy, dance, music and theatre productions as well as a two-screen cinema.
Durham is renowned for its open green spaces, so you'll be able to enjoy its parks and scenic countryside - great for spending outdoor time with the family and the dog. Within easy reach is the city's Wharton Park with its new Heritage Centre, cafe, play areas and miniature car track. Crook Hall is a Grade I listed medieval hall with stunning gardens, a maze and activities for children. You can also walk along the River Wear, amble through Aykley Wood Nature Reserve, picnic in Broompark or visit the Durham Heritage Coast approximately half an hour's drive away.

Durham is the focal point for regional public transport, with a train and bus station. It only takes 12 minutes to reach Newcastle, and 45 minutes to reach York by train. The city also has excellent road links to the A1(M) and A19.
