Clay Cross is part of an exciting new £22m redevelopment scheme taking place to the South of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. As part of this, the area will benefit from a wide variety of new amenities, including a new supermarket, vastly improved transport and road links as well as a new parade of shops and state of the art medical centre.
The area is famous for its part in the industrial revolution, supplying coal and iron for George Stephenson’s railways and steam engines.

As part of the £20m redevelopment of Clay Cross, a large new supermarket is under construction, as well as a new parade of shops, designed for local independent retailers. Chesterfield is just 15 minutes away by car or bus and has a wealth of independent boutiques in The Shambles and The Yard where the narrow streets date back to the 12th Century.
Locally there are a number of excellent country pubs serving locally sourced food and traditional ales, as well known favourite curry house, Kathmandu Gurkha. Chesterfield itself has an excellent choice of restaurants as well as one of the oldest pubs in Britain.
The town overlooks the Derbyshire Peak district where outdoor activities are abundant.
Chesterfield’s railway station is under 20 minutes away and on the Midland Main Line, meaning access is easy to nearly cities and those further away such as London and Manchester.
Chesterfield is set to become an important stop on the new HS2 line which will give access to central London in 52 minutes and Birmingham or Leeds in under 20 minutes each.
The M1 runs to the East of the town providing excellent links to nearby cities, both Nottingham and Sheffield are well under an hour away.
Clay Cross is under 90 minutes drive from East Midlands, Doncaster Sheffield, Leeds Bradford and Birmingham International airports.
