Set in the scenic Sussex High Weald, Mayfield is one of East Sussex’s finest villages – and here, in the delightfully-named, Love Lane, you’ll discover Jones Homes’ Mayfield Place. This new development comprises just 13 three and four-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses, designed and finished to exacting standards - as you’ll appreciate when you visit the show home, open daily.

Mayfield offers an elegant main street with a wealth of medieval buildings, a good selection of local shops and a primary school. Further shops are on hand in Heathfield, 5 miles away, and in Tunbridge Wells, just 10 miles away.

Commuting is easy. Mayfield is on the A267 and from the nearest station at Crowborough (3.5 miles) there are services to London Bridge and London Charing Cross via Tunbridge Wells with journey times to London of around 60-70 minutes.

There’s plenty to do in the village with a theatre company, choir, a band with junior and senior sections, a flower guild, horticultural, local history and wine societies. There’s also a branch of both the WI and the U3A. For younger locals there’s a ‘Monday Tots’ as well as the usual Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Guides. Badminton, bowls, cricket, golf, tennis, Pilates, Zumba and Yoga are on offer with swimming at St Leonard’s Girls School.

Country walks encircle the village, passing through meadows and woods. Wilderness Woods, a working woodland park with a network of trails and year-round events, can be found in Uckfield, just over 5 miles away. Ashdown Forest, famed as ‘home’ to Winnie-the-Pooh’ is around 15 miles away. Batemans, six miles from Mayfield, once the home of Rudyard Kipling, is now owned by the National Trust and there’s Groombridge Place, where Jane Austen’s ‘Pride & Prejudice’ was filmed, just under 7 miles from Mayfield.
