Porters Grove is situated less than two miles from the sea – Bulverhythe and  St Leonards beaches are just five minutes away by car, while Hastings, and Bexhill-on-Sea beaches can both be reached in around 10 minutes. Combe Valley Countryside Park is a short walk from the development – it includes walking trails and a cycle path; Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve, six miles away, extends across 853 acres of grassland, woodland, cliffs and coastline, and is home to a variety of plants and animals. Alexandra Park in Hastings is the largest in the area, with facilities including children’s playgrounds, tennis courts, a multi-use games area, a miniature railway, gardens and two reservoirs. Nearby leisure centres include Helenswood Sports Centre and Summerfields Leisure Centre, both less than 10 minutes’ drive away. Both have gyms, fitness studios and sports courts, while Summerfields also has a swimming pool.

Major roads within convenient distance of the development include the A21 (for Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Orpington and London), the A27 (for Eastbourne, Brighton, Portsmouth, Southampton and Salisbury), and the A259 (for Bognor Regis, Worthing, Brighton, Newhaven, Eastbourne, Hythe and Folkestone). St Leonards has two railway stations – St Leonards Warrior Square and West St Leonards – with regular services to Hastings, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, London Bridge, London Warterloo East and London Charing Cross. Trains to London Victoria, Clapham Junction, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, Eastbourne and Brighton also call at St Leonards Warrior Square. Ashford International, for Eurostar services to France, Belgium and Holland, is around an hour’s drive away. Gatwick Airport is 75 minutes’ away by car, via the A27 and the A23.
