If you do head into Portsmouth, you’ll have the choice of Cascades Shopping Centre or the modern Gunwharf Quays in the city, or the dining and shopping, leisure and lifestyle of Port Solent on the edge around five miles from Oak Vale. For out of town shopping, head for the Victory and Ocean retail parks.

Transport

Waterlooville lies just 8 miles from Portsmouth, with superb public transport into the city along the A3 Bus Corridor. Drivers can also get rapid access via the A3(M) and the A3 London Road. Southampton is just over 20 miles away via the nearby M27, with Chichester 15 miles, Winchester 32 miles and London around 65 miles to the north east.

Trains from Portsmouth take just an hour and a half to reach the capital, while ferries can have you in France in just four hours, Jersey in eight hours or Northern Spain in 24 hours. For trips further afield, Southampton airport is 15 miles away, with Heathrow under 60 miles.
