The Asian flavours of Jameira Restaurant, in the village centre, are very popular, as is the restaurant at Staplehurst Nurseries. Weald of Kent in nearby Headcorn is famous for its Sunday carvery while Apicius in Cranbrook offers fine dining at its very best.

Education

Staplehurst Primary School lies at the heart of the village community, with a large number of pupils making it a vibrant learning environment. It was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in its last report.

For senior education, New Line Learning Academy and The Weald Academy are both within easy reach by bus along the A229, with Valley Park School worth the extra few minutes ride for its ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating. Marlborough House and Bethany School offer an independent alternative.

Leisure

Staplehurst has a strong sense of community spirit, with a vast range of activities based around the village hall. The cricket and tennis club has over 450 members, half of which are under 18, while the local Staplehurst Monarchs United has a number of successful football teams. Staplehurst also boast an annual carnival every summer with a range of events and attractions to draw the crowds and bring the village together.

Golfers will enjoy the close proximity of Staplehurst Gofl Course, just a short walk from the development, while other sports facilities can be found at the nearby Weald Sports Centre in Cranbrook or Maidstone Leisure Centre. Maidstone is also home to a selection of cinemas and theatres for evening entertainment.

Shopping

Staplehurst has a small selection of shops along the High Street, with a local supermarket coming soon to the village.

For a more extensive shop, take the short trip to Maidstone for the Fremlin Walk shopping centre and The Mall at Maidstone. Tunbridge Wells offers out of town shopping at Tunbridge Wells Shopping Park on the Staplehurst side of the town, plus Royal Victoria Place in the town centre. Ashford Designer Outlet is also well worth the drive, offering significant discounts on a huge choice of leading labels.

Transport

Staplehurst lies on the A229, just 8miles from the M20 motorway and around 50miles south east of London. Maidstone is 9miles away, Tunbridge Wells around 15miles and Ashford around 18miles.

Staplehurst Station is less than a mile from Woodlands Green and has regular services to both London Cannon Street and Charing Cross, taking around an hour and five minutes.  The station also has direct services to Ashford International, where you can connect with Eurostar services to the continent. There is also a direct train from London Bridge to Staplehurst, taking around 52 minutes.
