Zen Chinese, Mexican Village, Zeera and the New Orchid are also popular West Derby eateries. Alternatively, head into the city, where you’ll find everything from Europe’s oldest Chinatown, to restaurants at the top of skyscrapers offering incredible views across the Mersey.

Education

West Derby’s Catholic schools are of the highest standard, with St Paul and St Timothy’s Catholic Infants and St Edwards College both rated outstanding by Ofsted, with St Edward’s College in the top 1% of schools nationwide. Alternative schools include St Mary’s CofE Primary and Roscoe Primary, both rated good, with West Derby School for boys and Holly Lodge College for girls offering alternatives for older pupils.

The city is also home to the City of Liverpool College, offering further education, and three universities, along with Paul McCartney’s famous Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts.

Leisure

With a host of world-class museums and galleries, theatres and concert venues, plus tourist attractions that bring in millions of visitors every year, Liverpool is certainly a leisure city. Transport

Regency Manor has excellent connections, with regular buses into the city centre and surrounding areas. Mill Lane lies just off the main Liverpool ring road, Queens Drive, leading to the end of the M62 just 2 miles away. The city centre is just 3½ miles, Liverpool John Lennon Airport just 8 miles and Manchester is around 30 miles.

The nearest station is Broad Green, which is 2 miles away and has services to Liverpool in 14 minutes and Manchester in 54 minutes. Liverpool has mainline services to London in around 2 hours, or you can connect to the West Coast mainline at Wigan, from Broad Green, for trains north to Preston, Lancaster and Scotland.
