Bloxham’s local history and distinctive buildings, many of them within a conservation area, are celebrated in a small museum housed in a building dating back to the 14th century. The village’s clubs and societies range from reading and history to gardening and choral singing, and there are two traditional pubs, the Elephant and Castle and the Joiner’s Arms. To the south of the village, RAF Barford St John’s is a WW2 airfield that featured in the 1949 film Twelve O’Clock High. It is now used by the USAF as a communications centre.

Weavers Fields is five miles from Banbury and five and a half from junction 11 of the M40, with Oxford around half an hour’s drive away. Bloxham is served by Stagecoach Service 488 between Chipping Norton and Banbury, and trains from Banbury run to Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone, both journeys of less than an hour, as well as to Manchester, Oxford and further afield.

The area around Bloxham offers much delightful countryside to explore, including the splendour of Broughton Castle, a magnificent crenellated manor house surrounded by a moat and set in beautiful parkland. The castle is just three miles from Weavers Fields. Woodgreen Leisure Centre in Banbury incorporates a 50m outdoor pool, 40- station gym, exercise studio and indoor bowls, and a second Banbury leisure centre, Spiceball, offers a 25m indoor pool, 150-station gym and other facilities. The golf clubs of Tadmarton Heath and Rye Hill are located next to each other around three miles west of Bloxham.

There are recycling receptacles for metal cans and glass bottles and jars at the post office in the high street, and for electrical items such as toasters and kettles as well as computers and TVs at the Warriner School, at the northern end of the village.

In addition to the private Bloxham School, there are two state schools in Bloxham. Bloxham C of E Primary, described by Ofsted as a good and highly inclusive school, is less than a mile from Weavers Fields. The village’s secondary, the Warriner School, has the largest school farm in the country. Godswell Lodge surgery, ten minutes’ walk from the development, includes a dispensary and a complementary therapy centre, and there is a dental surgery adjacent to it.

Within half a mile of Weavers Fields there is a delicatessen, a convenience store stocking most everyday essentials, and a petrol station. A little further on, the High Street shops include a post office and newsagent, a pharmacy, a Co-op, a hairdresser and a fish and chip shop. Banbury offers a wide choice of shopping environments, from a centuries-old Thursday and Saturday market to high street fashions in the Castle Quay Mall.
