Located off Southbourne’s Main Road, Southbourne Fields is close to village amenities and well placed for travel to Portsmouth, Chichester and other south coast towns and villages. The Stagecoach Coastliner 700 service stops a few yards away, providing frequent buses to Havant and Portsmouth in the west and Chichester and Littlehampton in the east. The bus trip to Chichester takes approximately 15 minutes. Southbourne Railway Station, five minutes’ walk from the development, is on the West Coastway line, with half-hourly services in to Chichester. There are also trains to Brighton, Southampton and, around once an hour, direct to London Victoria, taking less than two hours to reach the capital.

A quarter of a mile from Southbourne Fields there is a Boots Pharmacy and a Co-op food store, open until 10pm seven days a week, that also offers Post Office services. A few yards further on, Southbourne Farm Shop sells locally produced vegetables, meat, dairy produce, preserves, artisan bread and some frozen goods, and hosts twice weekly visits from a fish-monger. The village also has a Chinese food takeaway, a Tesco Express shop, hairdressers, a traditional pub and a local library. All these facilities are within ten minutes’ walk.

Adjacent to the pharmacy there is a modern private dental practice, while Southbourne Surgery, around 350 yards further on, is a full time medical practice with a staff of seven GPs and comprehensive nursing support.

A nursery a few yards from the development offers pre-school care, and Southbourne’s Infant and Junior schools are located next to each other less than half a mile away. The village secondary, Bourne Community College, shares an open, green site with the Community Leisure Centre, where there is a well-equipped gym, a four-court sports hall, a group cycling studio and outdoor tennis courts. All three of Southbourne’s schools have been awarded ‘Good’ status by Ofsted, with the Junior School assessed as ‘Outstanding’ for pupil behaviour and safety. The recreation ground next to the Leisure Centre includes football and cricket pitches and a children’s playground. Various groups and organisations, from Guides and Brownies to an NHS Baby Clinic, meet in the Village Hall.

Chichester’s lively, diverse cultural attractions include the celebrated Festival Theatre, award-winning Novium museum, cinemas, live music, cafés, restaurants and pubs, contrasting with the relaxing outdoor leisure opportunities around Chichester Harbour and the vast expanse of the South Downs National Park - making this a very special place to live.
