About the Development

Droitwich Spa has been a popular place to live since Roman times, and it’s no less popular today. Just 6miles north of Worcester and 33miles south of Birmingham, with easy access in both directions thanks to the nearby M5, this charming Worcestershire market town is perfectly placed for you and your family to live and thrive.

Located to the south of the town, and surrounded by open countryside, The Orchards will, subject to planning, deliver a high quality of life in high class Redrow Homes. Remember, it takes just 5% deposit to secure your new home near Worcester with Help to Buy.

Dining

There is a remarkably extensive choice of restaurants in Droitwich Spa for such a small town, with as many friendly pubs offering tasty home cooked food too. Try the Lotus House, Spice Fusion, Droitwich Tandoori, Portofino and the Raj, as well as the ever popular Jason’s Carvery @ Chateau Impney.

For gastro pubs, try Chequer’s Inn, the Country Girl, the Fir Tree, the Gardener’s Arms, the Navigation, the Spinning Wheel or the Robin Hood.

Education

Droitwich operates a three-tier schools system, with the much improved Droitwich Spa High School, now rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED, at the top of the pyramid, supported by two middle schools – Witton Middle and Westacre Middle.

The town also has nine first schools, or primary schools, including Chawson First School and St Peter’s CofE First Schools close to the development in Droitwich and Hindlip CofE First School in nearby Fernhill Heath.

Independent education is provided by Dodderhill Girls School, with other private options available at Worcester Royal Grammar and Kings School, Worcester.

Leisure

Droitwich Spa is self-contained when it comes to fulfilling your leisure needs, with everything from a famous open air swimming pool to a combined theatre and cinema in the town. Droitwich Leisure Centre has pools and courts for a range of sports, and you can also swim in the salty outdoor pool of Droitwich Lido during the summer months. Droitwich Golf and Country Club and Gaudet Luce Golf Club both offer a challenging round for members and visitors alike.

The Norbury Theatre combines the latest cinema releases and classic films, with both local amateur dramatics productions and the best touring shows, to create a varied calendar of entertainment all year round. The town also has numerous friendly pubs and restaurants.

Nearby Worcester widens your leisure choice still further, with two multi screen cinemas, the ancient cathedral, the popular racecourse and a host of historic sites.

Shopping

Droitwich Spa has held a regular market in the town since 1215, and you’ll still find bargains there every Friday, as well as a Farmers’ Market on the first Saturday of every month. The town centre is host to Victoria Square and St Andrews Square shopping centres, along with a traditional High Street packed with both famous names and quirky independents. For big ticket items like furniture and electrical goods, visit the out of town Parkridge Retail park.

Nearby Worcester has an even wider choice with plenty of fascinating shops and stores aimed at the tourist trade, along with the Crowngate Shopping Centre and the modern Cathedral Plaza mall.

Transport

Droitwich Spa Station, in the heart of the town, has parking for 45 cars and 30 bicycles and provides regular services to Birmingham New Street in just 37minutes and Birmingham Moor Street in 50minutes. The station also has regular services to Worcester taking around 8minutes.
