The town has many sports clubs including cricket, rowing, rugby, running and motorsports, while Shrewsbury Sports Village is a modern sports centre. The Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are also with in easy reach.



Bowbrook Meadows just over 2 miles from Shrewsbury town centre and a few minutes' drive from the A5.
Wolverhampton is approximately 36 miles and Birmingham about 50.
The town has good bus and coach services with three park and rides.
Trains run from Shrewsbury Railway Station to Birmingham, Telford, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Cardiff and London Euston.
For air travel, Manchester and Birmingham Airports are both about 64 miles.
