About the Development

It is said that the residents of the ‘dry’ Quaker town of Bournville once frequented Harborne for some much needed revelry. Just five miles from the centre of Birmingham, this picturesque suburb has it all, from great schools to golf clubs.

Which makes it the perfect location for Redrow’s award winning Heritage Collection, which also has everything you need to live life to the full, including superb, family friendly interiors, designed for the way you live today.

Amenities

There is a Tesco Extra store on Hagley Road, and a nearby off licence and convenience store at Harborne Wine on Knightlow Road. The nearest Post Office is Fountain Road, just off Hagley Road.

For GPs, register with Harborne Medical Practice on York Street (Sat Nav B17 0HG, call 0845 467 9534) or for dentists try Harborne Dental Practice on Knightlow Road (Sat Nav B17 8PY, call 0845 467 9534).

Dining

Harborne has a huge selection of restaurants to savour, with Italian food especially well represented. Try the organic and free range delights of Buonissimo, the fresh taste of Zizzi’s or the traditional Italian of Valentinos.

Or go for something different, with the stylish Sabai Sabai Thai, the Indian flavours of Dosa Mania or the oriental taste of Henry Wong. For a special treat, head into Birmingham and discover delicious flavours of the famous Balti Triangle.

Education

Knightlow Park lies within easy reach of a choice of primary schools, including Harborne Primary, St Mary’s RC Primary, St Peter’s CofE Primary and the ‘outstanding’ OFSTED rated Chad Vale and Our Lady of Fatima primary schools. Secondary school pupils will find getting to classes even easier, with Lordswood Girls and Lordswood Boys both within walking distance of the development. Other senior options include Edgbaston High School for Girls and Harborne Academy – a specialist health and science academy.

Leisure

Harborne has everything you would expect in a major suburban centre, from golf and leisure centres to cinemas and theatres. Warley Woods, Brandhall, Harborne and Church Farm golf courses are all within easy reach, as is Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre.

If you’d prefer to watch sport than take part, Edgbaston Cricket Ground is close by, hosting England internationals and Warwickshire country matches. There is also a choice of top class football across the region.

For evening entertainment, there is a Cineworld and an Odeon cinema just a short drive away, with the Crescent Theatre and Birmingham Rep just beyond. Plus these days the crowds flock the other way, from Harborne to Bournville, to enjoy a choc-tastic day out at Cadburyworld.

Shopping

Harborne has a good selection of interesting independent shops near the traditional village centre, while for your weekly shop, there are local Waitrose and Co-Op stores. For a major shopping trip, you can’t ask for more than Birmingham City Centre, with the famous Bull Ring Shopping Centre boasting over 160 shops plus restaurants and cafes galore.

Transport

Knightlow Park lies just off the main A456 arterial route leading directly to the heart of Birmingham, just five miles to the north east. It also enjoys excellent access to the Midlands’ motorway network, with junction 3 of the M5 just a short drive away.

Trains from nearby University Station run every ten minutes and take just seven minutes to the City Centre, however there is no car park at the station. Birmingham International Airport is just over 13 miles away.
