About the Development

Just twelve miles south of Swindon and even closer to the M4, with direct trains to London from nearby Pewsey, Marlborough is remarkably well connected for a rural Wiltshire market town. Yet it remains surrounded by delightful countryside, with the stunning Savernake Forest right on the doorstep.

Marleberg Grange, Marlborough will offer a range of three, four and five bedroom family homes close to Swindon, within walking distance of excellent schools and close to the superb shopping of the town centre. Register now and be the first to know the news as this exciting project progresses.

Amenities

The development lies close to Marlborough’s Tesco superstore, for both your day to day needs and your weekly shop.

Both doctors and dentists can be found close by in the town, with GPs at Marlborough Medical Practice on George Lane (Sat Nav SN8 4BY, call us) and dentists at The Savernake Dental Practice at Marlborough Business Park (Sat Nav SN8 4FD, call us).

Dining

Marlborough has an outstanding range of restaurants, all just a short taxi ride from Marleberg Grange. Trip Advisor lists no less than 50 different eateries, with the Italian flavours of Pino’s Restaurante, the gastro pub Silks on the Downs, Rick Stein’s fish restaurant and The Palm Indian Restaurant all highly recommended.

For a special treat, head out of town to the tiny village of Little Bedwyn, where you’ll find The Harrow, which has proudly held a Michelin star since 2006. You’ll need to book well in advance but it is well worth it.

Education

The close proximity of the brand new Marlborough St Mary’s Infants and Juniors School means you can leave the car at home and enjoy the walk to school together with your kids, instead of the stress of a school run. With a brand new building in the pipeline, this is an exciting time for the school.

Older pupils will find school just as close and convenient, with the Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rated Saint John’s School also just a short walk away, and is also in relatively new premises, with the £26.5m school buildings only opening in 2009. The excellent and highly sought after Marlborough College offers an independent alternative within the town. The school won Tattler’s Best Public School title in 2015 and has educated many royals including Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Leisure

Marlborough is an active town with an annual Jazz Festival and the ancient Mop Fair as the highlights of a busy social calendar. The town has its own leisure centre and golf course, with Ogbourne Downs golf course also close by. Horse racing fans will appreciate the closeness of Newbury, where you’ll find regular meetings.

Savernake Forest, to the south of the town, close to Marleberg Grange, can take you back to nature, while the nearby Avebury stone circle will take you back in time. Stonehenge is also just a short drive away to the south west.
For culture, head for Marlborough’s Theatre on the Hill at Saint John’s School, or head north to Swindon, where you’ll find Swindon Arts Centre, the Wyvern Theatre and the Empire iMax cinema.

Shopping

Marlborough is famous for its shopping, with over 200 shops and stores to choose from, many of them along the delightful High Street. The superb selection includes everything from famous names to quirky independents, with something for everyone. The town was recently voted the 9th best shopping district in the whole of the UK out of a survey of 1000 shopping areas.

Nearby Swindon has a choice of West Swindon Shopping Centre and The Brunel Shopping Centre, along with the Orbital Shopping Park for out of town shopping to the north of the centre.

Transport

Marlborough is located midway between London and Bristol, at 75miles and 50miles respectively. It lies on the A4 arterial route and is just 8miles south of junction 15 of the M4. Swindon is around 12 miles, Newbury around 19miles and Reading around 35miles.

Trains can be found a short drive away at Pewsey Station, with direct services to London Paddington in an hour and ten minutes and Reading in around 35 minutes. Mainline services can also be found in Swindon, with direct trains to London and Bristol.
