Telford is home to a wide variety of good quality restaurants, with something to suit every taste and budget. Choose Indian at the Eastern Balti, Blue Elephant or Taj Mahal; choose Chines at the Lotus, Ho Mei Village or the Tin Tin; or stick with traditional pub grub at the Malt Shovel Inn, the White Lion or the Albion Inn. Most of the big name chains are also represented in Telford, offering everythign from Pizza Hut and KFC to Frankie & Benny's.

Education

For more modern entertainment, head into Telford for the latest releases at the Odeon cinema, or catch the latest shows at the Oakengates and Belfry theatres.

The more sporting among you will enjoy Wellington and Oakengates Leisure Centres, as well as the many excellent golf courses in the area, such as the Shropshire and Shifnal golf clubs. Telford is also home to a number of sports clubs covering everything from cricket and tennis to rugby union and football. Alternatively, why not head out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise in the grounds of Apley Castle.

Shopping

You'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to shopping, with a good selection of shops and stores in Leegomery, Hadley and Wellington, as well as a major shopping centre in Telford itself and further options at Telford Retail Park. Telford also has a wide range of interesting independent stores that reflect the proud, pioneering attitude of the town.

For a more extensive shopping trip, try the famous Bull Ring in the heart of Birmingham or Wolverhampton's Wulfrun Shopping Centre.

Transport

Leegomery lies just off the A442, with swift links to the M54 just 5 miles away, connecting to the M6 and M6 Toll in just over 20 miles. Head the other way and you'll reach Shrewsbury in just 17 miles. Wolverhampton is under 20 miles away, with Birmingham just over 35 miles and Birmingham International Airport just over 50 miles away.

Trains from either Wellington Station (3 miles) or Oakengates (4 miles) can whisk you to Shrewsbury in a quarter of an hour or Birmingham New Street, in the heart of the city, in just 45 minutes. From there you can find connections direct to London Euston in just an hour and a quarter.
