Located to the north-west of the city of Stoke-on-Trent, and east of the railway town of Crewe, the centre of the picturesque town of Alsager boasts a lake called The Mere, which is one of the town's main attractions. It was formed by a natural spring, and developed from marshland into a haven for wildlife.
