Westcombe Park is a wonderful new development of homes in Great Totham, Essex, situated on the edge of Maldon, and just over two miles away from the Heybridge basin. The development can be reached in around a 10-minute drive of junction 22 of the A12.

For something a little different, the Tiptree Tea Room, Museum and Jam shop is around 11 minutes away from Westcombe Park. Learn about the history behind the UK’s infamous jam, and the local village of Tiptree, where the product has been made since 1885.  

Further leisure attractions can be explored via Chelmsford, at just under a half hour’s drive from home, this vibrant town boasts several cinemas, theatres, live music venues, museums and an art gallery.

These include, in Maldon; the infamous Tiptree Tea Rooms, where a selection of breakfast foods, light lunches, cakes, cream and afternoon teas are available, while on the quayside, Fish on the Quay is a historic pub offering lovely views, with menus specialising in locally sourced ingredients, fresh fish and seafood dishes.. For special occasions, there is also Le Bouchon in Heybridge, set in a grade ll listed building, this upmarket brasserie sits alongside the canal and makes use of fresh, local produces within its  various menus including a la carte, lunches and afternoon teas, as well as a range of seafood and vegan dishes.

For families with young children, there are plans to build a primary school, as well as early years education provision, within this new garden village. There are also several well-regarded schools in the local area. For primary age children, Heybridge Primary School, is around thirteen minutes’ walk away. There are three further primary schools within Maldon, as well as, Heybridge Co-operative Academy for pupils age 5 – 16 and Plume School, for secondary education. 

For commuters, both Witham and Hatfield Peverel train stations can be accessed within around 15 minutes by car. Between the two of these stations, providing regular services to Colchester, Ipswich, Chelmsford, Stratford and London. London Liverpool Street Station can be accessed within around 40 minutes from both train stations. Westcombe Park will be served by local bus routes, connecting the development with Heybridge and Chelmsford, as well as both railway stations. Major roads within convenient reach from the development include the A12, within a four mile drive from home, providing easy connections to Colchester, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Chelmsford, Brentwood and London. Air travel is an option via Stansted Airport, which is only 35 minutes’ drive away, via the A120.
