The Wickets is our collection of new homes located in Penenden Heath near Maidstone in Kent. The development offers a range of two, three and four bedroom homes; ideal for families, first time buyers and commuters.

The Wickets is in an enviable location as it's close to Maidstone town centre but also has easy access to the M20 heading north and south to Ashford. This in turn links to motorways including the M25 and M2, plus the A249 and A229 are within easy reach. Close to the development there are frequent bus services into Maidstone town centre, where you'll find two train stations; Maidstone East and West.

Maidstone offers a range of excellent attractions, heritage sights, and stunning countryside. The picturesque River Medway meanders its way through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary to the north. Today the town is a cosmopolitan hub that celebrates its history whilst embracing modern living.

The local area is host to many events throughout the year including Music on the Green in Bearsted. Leeds Castle (see photo left) is perfect for family fun days and you can also enjoy the frequent concerts, open air cinema nights and fayres. A little further afield, Kent Showground hosts specialist events throughout the year. And, nearer to The Wickets, Maidstone Studios and Hazlitt Theatre are where shows such as Take Me Out and Catchphrase are held.

Maidstone has a range of shops including Fremlin Walk Shopping Centre, The Mall Maidstone, Royal Star Arcade, plus a good selection of popular high street stores. For your weekly food shop choose from Sainsbury's, Lidl, ALDI or Tesco Express.

Located in the heart of Kent, and halfway between London and Dover, Maidstone is in a fantastic situation and a popular place to live for commuters. The town is just 2 miles from the M20 which connects south to Ashford and Folkestone and north-west to London, with the M25 approximately 18 miles away. The A229 provides speedy routes and will connect you with the M2 leading onwards to Canterbury and Margate.

Maidstone is well-served by trains and has two railway stations: Maidstone East for London/Ashford services and Maidstone West for Gatwick/Strood services. The Channel Tunnel is easily accessed by train directly from Ashford. For destinations further afield, London City, Gatwick and Heathrow airports have regular flights to and from other UK airports as well as a wide range of international destinations.
