Schools for older students include The Malling School, Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School (boys) and The Rochester Grammar School for Girls.

Chatham, and Maidstone are both busy retail destinations with several malls and a mixture of high-street and independent stores.

Eight miles south, Maidstone offers a wealth of entertainment and sporting facilities, including leisure centres, a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema and a theatre.
