About Barking Riverside:

Set alongside 2km of stunning Thames River frontage, Barking Riverside is one of the UK’s largest and most significant new developments. A joint venture between L&Q and The Mayor of London, Barking Riverside will grow to house 30,000 people over the next 15 years, with 10,800 new homes and 65,000 square metres of commercial space set to be built on the 443 acre site – creating a brand new destination in East London.

The completed masterplan will be home to a total of seven schools, with four already open and recently receiving some of the best results in the borough. Riverside Campus is the largest free school campus in the UK, and will offer places for 2,600 pupils across a primary, secondary and special educational needs school.
Barking Riverside boasts to be part of London's Healthy New Town initiative; a key element of the initiative is the network of cycle routes, located along the river and through every stage of the development. The site will also be home a state-of-the-art health and leisure centre, a riverside hub of commercial and retail space and an ecology centre, offering a wealth of facilities and opportunities for residents. The site will also benefit from Envac, an automated waste disposal system.

Barking Riverside residents have Central London on their doorstep, with C2C trains running from nearby Dagenham Dock to London Fenchurch Street in 24 minutes and regular bus services running between the development and both Dagenham Dock and Barking station. In 2021, a new Barking Riverside station will open, once up and running, residents will be able to reach central London in just 22 minutes. Limited parking will be available across the Parklands phase, residents will also have access to an Enterprise Car Club service.
