If you’re visiting with children, Kent Life is another place worth checking out. It’s the sort of place where younger children can run around while adults still have plenty to look at.

For a more relaxed day outdoors, head to Mote Park. It’s a huge green space with a lake, walking routes and plenty of room for a picnic. Add in dinner at a good local restaurant or a traditional Kent pub and you’ve got a pretty easy weekend itinerary.

Maidstone might not be the first place that comes to mind when planning a trip to Kent, but that’s part of its appeal. It’s easy-going, surrounded by lovely countryside and close to some genuinely impressive attractions. Whether you’re travelling with the family, visiting as a couple or simply fancy exploring somewhere new, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
