Buying a new home in Queensferry

Queensferry is accessed from Edinburgh by the A90 which runs through the town and over the bridge into North Queensferry. The M90 joins the A90 just on the outskirts of the town and the M90 motorway links to the M8 and M9 motorways making commuting to other Scottish towns quick and easy. The closest train station to the town is at Dalmeny. Scotrail operates from here regular services on the Fife Circle into Edinburgh, Glenrothes with Thornton and Cowdenbeath. Queensferry bus services are provided by Stagecoach Fife with services to Edinburgh, Edinburgh Airport and Livingston as well as routes to local villages and towns in the surrounding area. There are ferry services from the harbour to the islands including Inchcolm.

Queensferry being on the shore of the Forth has a few different boat tours from laid back sightseeing boat trips, evening dining and dance cruises to a high speed wildlife watching speedboat experience. There are also companies offering watersports including paddlesports, yachting and dinghy sailing.

For those preferring to keep their feet on dry land there are many green spaces around the town to stroll through including the King George V Park. There are many stately homes and significant buildings around Queensferry such as Hopetoun House, a splendid Georgian house with parkland and a 17th Century mansion in the centre managed by the National Trust for Scotland. The Tolbooth on the High Street, dating from the 17th Century has a clock tower built in 1720. The town has a museum showcasing the traditions and past history of the Forth Rail and Road Bridges, ferry passage and local customs, trade and industry. It also has displays on local wildlife, with a telescope to spot the wildlife as well as taking in the views of the Forth. Queensferry has many shops including the main supermarkets for all your daily essentials. Amongst the shops there are many places to eat and drink from takeaways, inns and pubs to seafood restaurants.
